The mission of the Federal Public Defender's Office is to ensure that the right to counsel, guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment and the Criminal Justice Act, is enforced on behalf of those who cannot afford counsel and requisite defense services.

Federal Defender offices are created under the provisions of 18 United States Code 3006A, the Criminal Justice Act in order to provide.

This office was opened in 1983.
